Numbers Game (Numbers Game, Book 1) by Rebecca Rode

If Divergent was actually good.

Numbers Game checks every box on the YA dystopian checklist: a class-based society deciding people’s roles, conveniently timed romances, and characters making completely irrational choices.

And yet… I still enjoyed it. A lot of that comes down to expectations, I went in knowing exactly what I wanted: a familiar, fast-paced YA story to scratch the itch after a break from the genre. That’s exactly what I got, and it delivered.

If you’re looking for something quick, simple, and entertaining, Numbers Game won’t blow your mind, but it’s a solid addition to the genre.
