From Princess To Porn Star: A Real-Life Cinderella Story by Tasha Reign

A Life Uninteresting. 👸💋😒

There’s nothing technically wrong with this book, but unless you’re already a dedicated fan of Tasha Reign, it’s unlikely to hold your interest. As someone who isn’t, I found it surprisingly dull and lacking in substance.

Much of the memoir leans on her upbringing in Laguna Beach and Orange County, as if proximity to wealth and glamour automatically makes her story compelling ✨. But when you strip away the surface, her experiences feel distinctly average. The book often tries to elevate the mundane, but reading between the lines, not much actually happens.

What ultimately made this a frustrating read for me was the tone. It often feels like a privileged person whining about their privilege 😢, a dynamic that’s hard to connect with. While she uses the book as a platform to discuss valid issues, such as feminism and the treatment of women in the adult industry, the delivery feels more self-serving than enlightening. These are important topics, and I wanted to care, but it was difficult to take them seriously when they were framed alongside complaints about a life most people could only dream of.

The title, From Princess to Porn Star, pretty much says it all: she was born into comfort and opportunity. And while I don’t have anything against Tasha Reign as a person, her story just isn't one that’s easy to empathize with or invest in.
