Crossed

Crossed (Matched, Book 2) by Ally Condie
So, apparently I read this book… when did that happen? 🤔🤷♂️
I remember reading the first book, Matched, and I remember enjoying it, but I don’t remember anything about it. Characters, plot, I got nothing. I only remember that it was good in the sense that it kept me entertained. It just wasn’t very memorable, literally.
But Crossed? This one took forgettable to a whole new level. Not only do I remember nothing about the story, I don’t even remember the physical act of reading it. The only reason I know I did is because the tracking apps I use all say I completed it. That’s it. That’s the only evidence.
So how do you review a book you have zero recollection of? Well, maybe that is the review. The complete lack of impact it had on me speaks volumes. It’s the definition of extraordinarily average.
I’m currently reading the third book, Reached, out of sheer principle to finish off the trilogy. And yes, it’s written in the ink of mediocrity, on stereotypical paper, with the pen of unoriginality.
This might really be the most forgettable series ever.
